PENNSYLVANIA SCALE ANNOUNCES MOVE TO NEW LOCATION

June 10, 2002, Leola, PA — Dale Bezzard, president of Pennsylvania Scale Company recently announced the company’s plan to move into new facilities by July 1, 2002. Presently located in Leola, PA, the company is moving to a recently renovated building at 1042 New Holland Avenue in the Burle Industrial Park in Lancaster, PA.

According to Bezzard, the move is part of Pennsylvania Scale Company’s plan to take a more proactive role in the weighing industry. “ To be perfectly honest, our business has surpassed the usefulness of the Leola plant. We’ve been there for almost 100 years, and we simply need more contemporary surroundings,” says Bezzard. “The great thing about our new location is we’ve designed it the way we wanted it. So I expect us to be both more efficient and more productive, which should help us sharpen our competitive edge.”

With over 12,000 square feet of space, the new facility will house the company’s manufacturing and assembly operations, testing and technical center, warehouse and administrative and marketing services.

A little more than a year ago, Pennsylvania Scale Company was sold to Grupo Epelsa, S.L., one of the largest manufacturers of weighing scales and systems in Europe. The purchase allowed access for Pennsylvania Scale to Grupo Epelsa’s advanced technology and depth in commercial and retail scale products while affording Grupo Epelsa an entryway into the North American market, where Pennsylvania has been historically strong.  As part of that arrangement, Pennsylvania Scale recently announced that they will be marketing the Epelsa line of retail scales to their distributors and selected end users.

Pennsylvania Scale Company, established in 1903, manufactures a complete line of commercial and industrial scales, indicators and bases.
